In this clip, Bob Dylan plays a record from Gene Summers on his XM Satellite Show "Radio Hour With Bob Dylan". I grew up with Gene's son, Shawn Summers back in Texas and we used to play in a band called "Juan Madera". Gene is an awesome guy and a good friend.

On the rest of the album, I'm hearing Americana influences from the Beach Boys, Traveling Wilburys, Gram Parsons and even Marvin Gaye.
By the way, I think that slide guitar is like the bacon of music. Never totally necessary, but always a good idea.
